Prepare for the January Lag for Success in Your Aesthetics Business All Year Long

Lots of people over-spend during December (ahem, myself included) and many aesthetics businesses slow down in the following weeks as people try to get back on financial track again.  Instead of stressing out over less money coming in or sitting around being bored, prepare for what I call "the January Lag" with these 3 ideas.

⭐Tip 1 – SAVE MONEY NOW FOR THE SLOWER DAYS OF JANUARY 

Hopefully you will be nice and bust in November and December, so set aside some of the bounty you earn (and especially the extra money you collect from gift card/spa credit sales) so you  aren’t sweating the bills in January. It's easy to see all that money in your account and to then spend, spend, spend! Just ignore the fat pile of money you accumulated and spend like you normally do. Or even consider paying January (and maybe even February) bills early. This goes for summertime too. 😉

⭐Tip 2 – YOU DESERVE A BREAK TOO

You know you do! Especially if you worked really hard during the holiday season!  Consider scheduling a few days (or more!) off where you can relax and rejuvenate yourself – especially if things will be slow in January!  Maybe you can even connect with another aesthetic professional and trade services one day at your spa. If you are feeling refreshed and relaxed, the upswing of appointments in spring will be easier to meet with motivation and inspiration.

⭐Tip 3 – NOW YOU HAVE THE TIME TO WORK ON YOUR BUSINESS

All that stuff you have been putting off like editing your forms, updating your marketing, figuring out how to automate tasks…if you have some slow time in January, plan on doing those things when you don’t have appointments.  I recommend blocking off full days at a time (or at least a few hours) in your schedule so that you don’t have to switch from client mode to admin mode and back again.
