Who will Dr. Whelchel work with?

  • CLTs and businesses that offer hair removal and/or RF services 

  • Experienced Nurse Injectors on a case by case basis

  • Licensed estheticians on a case by case basis

 

Who needs a medical director?

Certified Laser Technicians using Laser or Radiofrequency MUST have a medical director.  Practitioners using HIFU MUST have a medical director.

Nurses with RN or BSN credentials MUST have a medical director.

A Licensed esthetician only needs a medical director for medical-grade products, services and devices.

 

What services can I offer with Dr. Whelchel as my Medical Director?

Certified Laser Technicians: Laser hair removal, IPL hair removal, Cosmetic Radiofrequency (per Arizona law, other procedures require a medical director on-site, not provided by Dr. Whelchel.) Click for More Info: Laser

 

Nurses: All of the mainstream injectables such as Neuromodulators/toxins, dermal fillers, PRP, PDO Threads, etc. Nurses with laser training: can offer many laser services with their medical director off-site.

Licensed Estheticians: Medium depth chemical peels, Medical-grade products for in-house use or retail sale, Medical-Grade Microneedling Devices such as Skin Pen®, Deeper depth microneedling that breaks the skin – treatment of scarring, stretch marks, cellulite. What does having a Medical Director do for my business?

For some businesses, it allows you to legally offer services (laser, IPL and RF)!

As an Esthetician, you can offer medical grade services, which allows you to earn more money in your business and provide more value and better results to your clients.

 

What does Dr. Whelchel do as a medical director?

Medical authority and offsite supervision as required by law

Helps keep you compliant with Arizona laws

Helps make sure practices are safe

Provides or helps you develop standard operating procedures

Patient/client consultation (at no charge) should an adverse reaction occur

What do Dr. Whelchel’s clients like best about working with her?

She’s so approachable and easy to talk to! (Not like some other doctors, sad to say.)

 

How does all this work?

Accounts:

Dr. Whelchel will be the medical director on the accounts, but the accounts will belong to your business.  You will be able to order whenever you want, and all the billing goes to you.  You just have to ask Dr. Whelchel before you set up the account, send her the medical director paperwork to sign, and keep records of your orders so Dr. Whelchel can review them periodically.

 

Contract and Payments:

1 year in duration, paid monthly by Zelle®, due the 1st of each month, late fee of $50 after the 5th of the month

Pricing:

Laser Tech $350/mo

Esthetician $300/mo

Esthetician + Laser $500/mo

Nurse Injector $600/mo

Nurse Injector + Laser $800/mo

  

Access to Resources:

Once the contract is signed and payment is received, you will be given access to the password protected area of the website, where you will find resources to get things going quickly –

"Packet" with steps to getting started, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms to use for your clients and in your business. And remember, there's a free BONUS business class for you too! ​

 

Observations and Inspections:

Dr. Whelchel or her representative would like to see you in person (or sometimes by video) at your location about every 6 months to make sure everything is safe and compliant.  This includes checking license expirations, sanitation and disposal methods, etc.  Once a year, Dr. Whelchel would like to observe you perform a procedure – “watch the magic,” as Dr. Whelchel likes to say!

If questions come up or forms need to be signed, you can contact Dr. Whelchel by email.  She asks that you reserve contacting her on her cell phone for emergencies only.

 

Professional Liability Insurance:

Dr. Whelchel requires that you carry Professional Liability Insurance and name her as an “Additional Insured,” covering her should your business be sued.  This is provided for free or for a small fee by your insurance provider, perhaps $5-15 per month or $50 for the year.  (Further instructions are provided in your packet.)

How do I get a refill?

1. Check to see if you have refills left (on bottle or call pharmacy)
2.  If you don't have any refills, call the pharmacy and ask that they fax for refills

 

How do I get in touch with a NON-URGENT question?
Send an email!  Dr. Whelchel can best remember and respond most efficiently when she is at her computer.  Sometimes texts get forgotten or overlooked (those kids of hers playing on the phone!) - so please email!  (You'll get a response usually within 24-48 hours M-F)
 

How do I get in touch with an URGENT issue/emergency?
Call or text Dr. Whelchel directly on her cell phone.
 

How do I submit a suggestion or request to Dr. Whelchel?
